Super D PLUS

Through our new program, Super D Distribution PLUS, your films will be more widely available to major retailers like B&N, FYE, Circuit City, Wal-Mart and more.

The reason they are more likely to take a chance on your films is they will be getting the film on consignment for up to 120 days. It allows the retail outlets to take a chance on your film without having to take the money risk. This is how normal traditional Distribution works.

You have to think of this as an investment in your future. Can you afford to keep 10, 20, 100 copies of your film on consignment in order to have a greater distribution reach?

How it Works:

  • If your DVD is not in Film Baby yet, sign it up like normal. Mail us the DVDs.
  • Once your DVD is active and available on filmbaby.com, (with a barcode), and you tell us you want to be a part of Super D Plus, we send our partners daily updates of your info, pricing, and inventory.
  • Super D's database (called "SuperFile") and a B2B site are sent to over 2400 retail stores around the world, to let them know these titles are available for ordering.
  • Any store can then sell your DVD by buying it through Super D.
  • As soon as Super D receives the order from the store, they tell Film Baby, and we ship it to Super D by FedEx that same day. Super D sends it to the store the next day.
  • Super D orders get put into our system like any other order, with the store's info as the customer, for you to see, but you do not get paid just yet.
  • Once Super D starts getting orders, and the titles are SOLD, you will then get paid.
  • Orders can range from 1-2 pieces to 30,000 pieces by Best Buy or Wal-Mart. Yes it is possible.

A Real World Example

  • On January 1st 2009, we ship Super D 100 copies of your film.
  • On February 10th 2009, they sold 50 copies of your film to a retailer.
  • You will get paid for those sales 60-120 days (depending on who purchased the film. If it was another internet site, then you will be looking at a net 60. If it is a Wal-Mart or Best Buy or FYE, you might be looking at 120 days (sadly some pay on THEIR terms even if there are pre-agreed terms))
  • On or around May 10th, the sales will show up in your member statements as sales and you will be paid.
  • At anytime, you can get your stock of 50 DVD's back and cancel the Super D Plus.
  • At anytime, you agree to accept the returns of defective product and refund at full purchase price.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON:

WITH GREAT REWARDS COMES GREAT DANGER! This is a great opportunity for you to get exposure for your film and have major retailers pick it up and sell it in their stores but there is a dark side to this business when playing with the big kids.

YOU get paid the DAY WE GET PAID from SUPER D which is 60-120 Days from when SUPER D gets paid. See the example above for more information on who pays when.

This is a TOUGH ECONOMY and BUSINESSES ARE CLOSING. Here is another real world example: Retailer "A" orders 20 copies of your film on consignment for $7 a disc with a total value of $140 on December 1st. We ship the DVD's to them on December 4th and report that in your inventory. On December 10th, Retailer "A" declares Bankruptcy. Film Baby and Super D will fight to get your money and discs back, but when the major studios are going to be owed millions, unfortunately you are not going to be number one on the payment list.

We will always contact you before any large order is placed to make sure you understand the risks and rewards of the program and how it works.

If you have a great movie and you have 800 DVD's in your garage, or kitchen (or as your kitchen table), then maybe it is worth the risk and try it out.

If the Super D Plus sounds like it is a bit to much of a risk, then just do the regular Super D program. It is SAFE, you get PAID every time we SHIP a DVD to them and your DVD will still be available to the 2400 retailers nationwide.
